What this site collects

You can read every page without creating an account or giving your name. The site does not ask for, store, or sell personal information such as your address, lot number, or HOA account details.

Forms on this site that help you contact someone (volunteer interest, key fob requests, business referrals) only prepare a draft in your own email app or clipboard. Nothing is submitted to this site; you choose whether to send it.

Preferences stored in your browser

The site saves a few small values in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings or Piney's clear button.

• theme-mode: your light, dark, or system color preference.
• theme: an older copy of the color preference, kept for compatibility.
• text-scale: your preferred text size.
• llec_chat_history: up to your last 50 Piney chat messages, so a conversation survives a page reload.

Piney chat helper

When you ask Piney a question, your message and a short recent history of the conversation are sent to this site's server and then to Google's Gemini service to write an answer. Do not type private account details, payment information, or anything you would not post publicly.

This site does not save chat messages on its server. If the AI service is unavailable, Piney answers from published site content instead.

Traffic measurement

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading speed. These tools do not use cookies and do not identify individual visitors. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

Other services you may reach from here

The home page checks a public school-closure feed (iswcpssclosed.com) from your browser to show weather or emergency closings. Like any website request, that service can see your IP address.

Links to Charleston Management, the resident portal, payment pages, Facebook, Nextdoor, maps, and local businesses take you to sites with their own privacy policies. This site has no control over what they collect.

Offline copy

If you install the hub or visit it often, your browser may keep a cached copy of public pages so they open without a connection. This cache contains only public site content.
